Production and sale of hard coal in Poland
Production capacity in hard coal mining sector was 96 million tons a year at the end of 2006. Hard coal production in Poland constitutes over 50% of the Union’s production.
Poland is the biggest producer of hard coal in the European Union. The significant majority of coal produced in Poland is power coal, what is shown in the below table.
